If you are a retiree of the Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters retirement system, Plan 1 (“LEOFF 1) or Plan 2 (LEOFF 2) the Retired Firefighters of Washington is for YOU! Join our family of retirees and have confidence we are looking out for your best retirement interests, protecting and enhancing the pension and medical benefit features of these pension systems. Law enforcement retirees are welcome as well.
The Retired Firefighters of Washington is the longest serving politically active organization in Washington State history dedicated to, and representing, the interests of retired firefighters and law enforcement personnel of Washington State and their families. Countless hours are spent in Olympia, on behalf of retired firefighters and law enforcement members, working with our state's Representatives to maintain, secure, and improve your pensions and medical benefits as they apply to retired firefighters and law enforcement members, their families, and surviving spouses.
We also provide individualize service when members have unique concerns or problems related to their pension benefits. Just give the President a call, who is a retired attorney that has litigated both LEOFF 1 and LEOFF 2 issues, and he will do his best to serve (at no cost to you).
In addition to this serious work, the RFFOW provides a means for retired firefighters and law enforcement members and their spouses to keep in touch with each other, pass along information, charitable programs, and have some fun! We have monthly meetings, held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (except June & July) where members have the opportunity to meet on Zoom and to hear the latest regarding pension issue, topics of interest, and association business. We recently implemented a Zoom only feature so you can attend General Meetings from wherever you live. This is exciting because we get attendees from all over the country and all over the world.
So, if you're not already a member of the Retired Firefighters of Washington, we encourage you to join. There is strength in numbers. We are already a powerful voice in Olympia and around the State but the greater the numbers the louder and stronger the voice to be heard.
To join, just print and fill out a membership application, which includes options to have $5.00 automatically drawn from your monthly pension as a means of paying your dues (i.e. $60 a year). And if you choose pension auto deduction we waive the $60.00 initiation fee. Print and fill out this pension deduction form if you are already a member and want to pay dues via pension auto deduction.
